Little Anchor blends the storytelling and simplicity of the Northwest with New York influenced pop sensibility. The Brooklyn-based four-piece was initially conceived over a long weekend in a cabin on the Columbia River Gorge as the solo project of Pacific Northwest native, Alexa Cabellon in May 2009. Upon her return to New York, the small front-woman with big ideas shared her material with friends and former NYU classmates Kendrick Lo (guitar), Thomas White (bassist), and Ian Chang (percussion), who now complete the group. The group released their debut EP Sunland in the early winter of 2010 and recently Yellow Lights in September.

P.I.C is a charismatic, nothing-but-a-good-time, super-sized soul collective that has been delivering a smart and robust blend of Rap, Latin-tinged Funk, punk ‘tude and Hip Hop-ified Ska to sweaty audiences on NYC’s Lower East Side and way beyond for over ten years. P.I.C’s wildly successful debut album HIPHOPUNKFUNKMAMBOSKA!!! (2000) was added to over 300 radio stations nationwide and reached #1 on CMJ charts from Canada to Hawaii. The follow-up album SEXY PICNIC (2003) was an even bigger CMJ hit and was picked up for national distribution by Select-O-Hits Records. P.I.C gleefully served as Wanda Sykes’ house band on Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend,” which adapted their original track, HIPHOPUNKFUNKMAMBOSKA, as the show’s theme song. In 2005, P.I.C unleashed THE BROOKLYN INCIDENT into the Japanese market, distributed by Swamp/Polystar Records. The video for GOT ME LIKE, the first single off EL NOVA HUSTLE, won the Asian Cinevision/Michelob Light Music Video Award and was selected a Top 10 Video of 2005 on CNET’s download.com, and P.I.C has since ventured deeper into the visual world with three more full length videos. P.I.C is excited to debut brand new music from a forthcoming record at Sulu DC!

With over 14 years of DJing experience, Les Talusan a.k.a. The Pinstriped Rebel spins an eclectic and fun mix of music, maintaining the highest quality control across a freeform blend of soul, funk, deep house & old school hip-hop, even throwing in some 80s freestyle & the occasionally obscure pop gem. Born and raised in Manila, Les fell in love with music at a young age, DJing at local clubs and playing in bands. Since moving to DC from the Philippines at age 20, she has continued to develop her talents, performing behind the decks throughout the U.S. and abroad.

DJ Mas aka Mas Yamagata is 1/8 of P.I.C. When he isn’t throwing down with The P.I. Crew, Mas bridges business between Japan and the US, manipulates loops and samples in The West Fjords, rocks bass in AM Low and DJs once a month at The Parkside Lounge in the Lower East Side of NYC.
